I'm just curious why some blogs show up on the list with the person's avatar and a J, Q, or K. Mine did once. Why is this and what does it mean?

Hi 85FastLane, The cards in your avatar is related to the amount of overall views your blogs have received so far. You need a 100 total views for a Jack, 1000 for a Queen and so on. The image might not appear for every blog, this is normal. You can edit the backround colour by clicking 'Edit' beside 'My Blog' in your profile box on the top right of this page. Raiser umbup:

Ok, so now I'm wondering: what does the number beside the eyeball icon mean for a blog? I assumed that was the number of views, but on blog entries with cards beside them, the number is much smaller than the numbers you listed above (as small as 11 for one entry on the Recent Blogs list that has a Queen behind the avatar). So what does the eyeball number mean? -- CanuckMonkey

Hi CanuckMonkey, Small numbers beside the eye icon are for individual views for each unique blog. The numbers for the card avatar stated above are for total views for all blogs written by that member. Raiser umbup:

Hmm, ok. So then why do some blogs not get the icon when other blogs from the same user do? My second blog has the icon, but my first and third don't.

          (Not complaining, just curious!)

while we are here, could you please give me some pointers on formatting?

I have noticed some people can edit their signature and add links to their blog, etc. How do I do that?

In the blog, how to edit colours of text? I assumed it was just HTML but there doesn't appear to be any non-wisywig functionality and no buttons for colour.

The two lines of symbols above where your post appears when you are typing it are where the means to do the fancy things are located. The top line lets you change fonts of a highlighted section and their sizes. The underlined capital A is where you can change colours. Click on the down arrow and a colour palette will appear.

The most used feature of the second line is the world with the paper clip. This lets you link to another page on the web. This will get you started on making your posts stand out from the ordinary.

                  Good luck

Thanks Doug, but those same text formatting options are not available in the Blog editor (only linking, bold, underline, and italic).

I'll give support email a try. Cheers

Thanks Raiser, I overlooked that comment before!

The analytical side of me is still curious as to how the system decides which blog to give the icon to, but I'll just try to suppress that part of my brain.
