  • The blind structure of Pokerschool open league game

I have been playing those games but I find the blind structure going up way too fast. After 16 minutes you already down to 18 BB and force to take more chances early and don't have a chance to really play poker instead you have to play bingo and hope you hit. So skill goes out the window if you are not given any good cards from the beginning so it's more of luck game then a poker game.

Is there any chance for the structure to be changed to be slower or smaller to begin with and not have to go all in after only 16 minutes? tks

    Hi Skeldarkday!

These tourneys normally take 5.5-6.5 hours to complete, so they are not short tourneys.

The key in them is to use patience and to not shove unless you have the best hand after all 5 cards are on the board. It's better to last longer and blind out than it is to take a chance and shove when down to 10BB (like one would do in a cash tourney). They need to be played with a different strategy. Patience is the key.

Well that is funny saying to blind out instead of playing is better when what we are told by trainers and Pros alike not to let yourself blinded out so you have fold equity.

You talk about patience which I have but the blind structure does not let you time to be patience. I saw what some players are doing trying to get lucky to get a stack then sit out till the end without playing so they can get more points.

How can this be a good way to teach players to play bingo instead of poker. They are not learning when they see they can win this tournament or at least finish high enough for them to get the maximum of points.

But not much I can do if you guys have your rules set in stones and don't listen even do what you say to do is the opposite of what trainers and Pros tells us to do.
