  • Disconnections

Was in the micromillions yesterday using the ticket I won from the Home Games.

Unfortunately, after the game had started I kept being disconnected from the servers, which was really frustrating as I was disconnected usually whilst I was in a hand, and when I was reconnected, that hand was over, and I had been timed out and folded automatically.

This happend on at least two occasions when I was just about to push all in, on what would have been the winning hand, only to see that someone else had won it with a far inferior hand.

I managed to last just past the first three hours, but with being so frustrated with the disconnections, I made a fatal error and pushed all in with pocket sevens against a very loose opponent who woke up with pocket queens and sent me to the rail. I can't complain about that, because that was totally my own fault.

But, what I would like to see instituted at Stars, would be a subroutine inserted to the programming, whereby, a person who is disconnected through no fault of their own, can still remain in the hand, with a side pot being made that they are still eligible for.

I realise that if they are reconnected before the hand was finished, they could take no further part in the betting, but that would still be much more preferable than losing what they had already invested.

I am quite sure that it is not beyond the capabilities of the programmers, to write a subroutine that could distinguish between those that are disconnected and those who are sat out.

I was holding my own in that micromillions tournament, and I am quite sure that had my frame of mind not been compromised by losing chips by default, that I could have done a lot better than I actually did.

Is there any possibility that a change to the programming can be made along those lines ?

    I would value a reply.

    Thank you in anticipation.

    Hiya Bill

I have seen the set up your referring to on several sites back around 2005/2006ish and at that time I also saw it abused a lot and think that be one reason the industry as a whole moved away from this.

I would say to get you the best answer on your question would be to contact PokerStars direct with your enquiry.

Thanks for being part of PSO, and Best of Luck at the Tables
