I played my first game of poker back in 2001. I used to play 7 card stud and holdem with a group of friends. Poker wasn’t a game that I played on a regular basis until I started playing online in 2006. I started playing on Full Tilt, followed by Pokerstars, and Party Poker. I probably wouldn’t be playing poker at all right now if I didn’t have the legal option of playing online. I’ve played millions of poker hands online, but I’ve only played poker about two or three times a year with friends or at a casino since 2006.

I first started playing poker on a the Playstation. Although it wasn't real poker I learned the basics from a few week of playing that. Soon after I entered a limit tournament
at the local casino. I won the tournamen for first place, just over $3000. The win also gave me enough points to get into the year end tournament where I got 2nd and $2000 as
we made a few deals along the way. I haven't won much since over the next ten years. Maybe a few sit n go's online but thats it. Im studying at the poker school now to see if I can get back on track.

Although I had heard of the game of poker I had no clue about it until I went for a job interview at Sky Bet, I went for a job that required some graphic design skill and at the interview I was asked if I knew how to play poker, I said no idea and I never got the job when I got home I thought I'll have a look in case I do get the job as I didn't know at the time I wouldn't. I first looked up the rules then thought I'll sign up to site and have a go, won a freeroll on my second or third attempt for about $5 then once i had a taste of playing tournements i was hooked and that was 12 years ago and have been in love with the game since.

My parents taught us ( my sis and I ) how to play card games when we were very young , I was maybe 5-6 years old . We learned poker and many other games. Of course we never played for money .... just something our family didn't do , even the adults when we were visiting . This was many years ago as I am now in my 60's.

So, the first time I played for money was at a party when I was 17 . I remember everyone was slightly drunk. I won , I won big. Now all of a sudden no one could play as they were out of money ! Damn , when the game finally went my way and no one to play with !!!
No , I don't remember what I won with or how much I won , just that it was a pile of coins ! We were all kids and all worked part time jobs after school - none of us were rich .

I didn't play again til many years later and it was with co-workers . I was grown up and in my 50's.
I tried to teach my kids , but they didn't seem to interested in it ,they were more interested in video games

Hello to all! I'd like to tell you about my first time and the best events! For poker and the basics I get my brother live in the poker hand combinations and then I could go to your poker site! I don't remember myself for the first time but a better party took place in the Spin & Go tournament when I had A-10 ♠ ️ in my hands and the first cards opened by K, Q, J ♠ ️ and I had royal flush !! Of course I won both the party and the tournament! I was able to photograph my party and show my friends! I wish you good luck and get to the poker table! rinaldslv5 )

I'm from a very small town with about 1500 people, if that. The very first time I played was 2007, It was a home game with family and friends, I was, and so were others we were underage, I immediately loved it because I love gambling in general. I won over 800.00, and was so happy it felt soo good, then I realized all the other "underaged" kids won just as much as I did, I then came to realize very quickly, that the adults clearly was "gifting" us, either way I fell in love with it, I'm getting better, but its very evident that I didnt legit win when I was younger. So I'm trying to get better at pokerstars, maybe start putting wins under my belt, and keep trucking along.

Ok when did i experience my first game of poker, this is how poker began for me, my best friend Dale came around to my house and was google eyed to his laptop and I was trying to have a conversation but he was not responding and I said you come around to my place and totally are ignoring me, his response was I'm in a hand heads up on a poker 6 seated hypa turbo Texas holding can't talk at the minute, you know how it is. I didn't reply as I did not know how it is lol, a few mins later he jumps up from his seat yes get in my boy that's what you get for being a donk, I was confused, he looks at me and replies just won £60 dollars Bill, happy days I replied what the hell is a donk all about, you really need to learn how to play poker my boy, ok sounds good to me buddy, he then drove us around to his flat, he went in and out with a tin that looked like a biscuit tin, got the chips my boy, back to mine chips out on the table where he then explained the hands too me , that night he got me too register to a poker tournament at the local pub where I funny enough ended up , last 2 players which was me and my best friend Dale lol.he goes hope you do not donk me, he kept raising on my blinds I push all in pocket 2s he had AK in his hand lol he hits an A on the river, fair play you pushed all in before me with pockets 2s u done nothing wrong but calling that many chips before the flop with pocket 2s you would of been a donkey Bill, I then realised there's ways of skills involved in this game where luckily I picked up very quickly, I'm now a feared player to most off my friends, I'm now a 20 year plus

I remember being about 12/13 and always having a facination with cards due to my dad being a magician. I first started at that age playing free games like governor of poker and zynga poker. Once i hit 18 i joined stars when i seen an advert and have been obsessed ever since. The game is a battle of mind more than cards and a great way to learn new things and think differently instead of just making money.

Until a couple of years ago, I had never played poker before.I had installed software before but I never had any understanding of the game past what I had seen on television poker tournaments. My first introduction to playing poker was through freerolls where I managed to take my bankroll from 0 to thirty dollars and placing first in a limited hold em tournament if I remember correctly. I loved having the Championship badge on my profile in the forums. Since then I have won some and lost some but this encourages me to study daily and practice hard every day. I enjoy watching and learning from youtube, twitch, poker school, and any resource that is available to help me get better. I am hoping the PokerStars software can help me to improve my gameplay and understanding of the game so that I can eventually transfer into some live tournament play at the casinos. I still have lots to learn and even though it's hard at times I look forward to it. I appreciate being able to become better and the opportunity to learn for free with play money and all the informative articles that help connect the dots.

                          Thanks for listening,
                          Adam Bush

I was first introduced to poker (and pokerstars) by my sister and my father. We played Hubbles free rolls every night for a long time... I got so tired of losing to worse hands that one night early on I called an all in on the first hand with a 42o and so did another guy. We split the pot! winning against a much better starting hand. I play much tighter than that now (hard not to) and still lose to so many worse hands/play. My sister no longer plays but I do and have spent so much money losing! Still a fun hobby, always improving, won a snowboard in TSN freerolls (still use it today), final tabled a $5.50, Sunday Storm and that's about it for the cash games. Share with my Dad 'Mustangstu' should you choose my response!

I was on a 6 months vacation to the dominican republic, lived near a casino, went one day and saw that there were many people playing poker. So I decided to try it out, bought a book about poker, then joined a tournament for 300 pesos which is about 3 dollars. Went out on my first hand. I went back and back and back did not win anything. Decided to read me up some more on poker, after 1 month I hit my first final table and BOOM, I've never stopped playing after that.
