  • Taking online Poker 2 Serious?

I did not watch after i busted out #270 (someone beat my flush with a bigger flush). I said good luck to all and good night and enjoyed the rest of the weekend with my kids, HOWEVER...I think that you guys have always put a little too much value on the skill involved in internet poker. I have played every online real money site and played here for almost 1 1/2yrs since I left and came back and I have learned one thing. THIS IS NOT REAL POKER! I have played brick and mortar poker 8yrs and won some b&m tourneys and won some tournies here (and done real cruddy in both places also lol). Imagine playing in a brick and mortar game and all you could see and hear were the chips and the cards. You could not see the young guy at the table paying more attention to the football game than his cards. You could not see the stern old guy that had his chips stacked in denominations and never cracked a smile. You could not see or hear the voice crack of the nervous Lady at the table as she said all in and pushed all her chips in. You could not see the guy downing 10 Jack and coke's (thats me ). Playing on here and "regularly" winning takes an amount of skill. I think all should keep in perspective that a LARGE part of the game is missing though. Happy Holidays to all and congrats to the winners.

You think wrong, at least in my case.

Of course a large part is missing. Fundamental poker skills, absent of tells and some psychology, are still present.
