I call and go bust when the buttons Ax spikes an Ace and busts out two painted pairs (QQ and JJ).

      Dump 'em

"Act, don't re-act" has become my watchword recently!

In this situation, if I'm the initial raiser and can put pressure on the others - I'll do it w. QQ.

But for a 15k bet by a solid player AND a 45k all-in in front of me - I'm dumping! Even if one of them is bluffing, the other likely can beat your QQ!

You've just gotten through the BB, so can afford to play cautiously until you're the bet leader!!

Too much of a chance that one of them has you dominated.

And maybe an AK in there to boot.

I fold this one unless one raiser and they are losse aggressive.

        What did they have?

They had JJ and AK respectively ?

          Looks like a fold though.

                    Aaron,

At 11,000 per round(500 antes, 2-4000 blinds), the MP doesn't have to have as good a hand as one would normally expect here-he can hardly wait any longer. It's self-evident that the button doesn't need one with his aggressive tendencies.

In a live event, I assume that only one table would be paid here with 87 players; being nowhere near reaching the money, and taking the situation into account, I'd almost certainly make this call, feeling it might be my best chance at making a go of it, though I have an aversion to calling all-in in most spots. If the MP were also aggressive, I'd make this call without hesitation, look at all five for free, and hope for the best.

I like Alan's reasoning, but I would fold expecting to lose 2 of 3 times in this situation. I would go with the first player figuring I was the favorite over pairs to 99 and big cards to AJ, but not with the second figuring I was a dog to AK, QQ, KK, or AA. I suspect the tourny EV would come into play by the final two tables swinging the balance to a fold. Anyway that's my alibi!
