  • Big One 2003 - suggestion

    8) 8) 8)

I have read through a lot of articles/posts regarding the BigOne II and how people have qualified and the different suggestions for how 2003 should be set up to improve on qualifying standards.

I would like to propose the following, which I believe to be much more balanced than this years qualifying - ensuring that people earn the right to play in the Big One.

have the current qualifying based on Monthly stats -
over the course of the year 450 people should qualify in this way.

hold a once monthly tournament with the top 15 players qualyfying,
therefore over 12 competitions a further 180 people earn their right to play.

hold last chance tournaments for a further 120 people to qualify.

The qualifying rank should be graded to the Monthly stats getting a D for 1st place and C for 2nd or 3rd with B qualifiers for the rest.

The Monthly competition should award a C qualifier to the top 3 players with B qualifiers for 4th through 10th and an A qualifier for 11th through 15th.

Last chance tournaments should award only A qualifiers.

Also I would say there should be no block placed on someone with an A or B qualification playing in the Monthly competition to try to improve their qualifying grade.

Any additional qualifiers needed due to a player increasing a previous qualification should be added to the last chance tournaments.

I hope that the good people at PokerSchool take these suggestions on board.
