    Proposed schedule

    Kev,
One significant change I would like to see.

I am primarily an Omaha player, and would like the tournament schedule to be more consistent with real life.

The schedule is loaded with Pot Limit Omaha H/L tournaments, and very skinny on Limit Omaha H/L. However, I have never even seen or heard of a Pot Limit Omaha H/L tournament in a brick and mortar casino. ( Perhaps they have them in Europe..., but that's not much help for most of us here in the U.S. ) On the other hand, LIMIT Omaha H/L events are quite common at most major tournaments.

I would like to see more LIMIT Omaha H/L events ( especially during the "prime-time hours like 19:00, 20:00, or 21:00 CST ), and MUCH less on Pot Limit Omaha H/L.

Omaha Hi only on the other hand is seen frequently on the tournament circuit, and I don't have any problems in having a good number of these types of events....

      Schedule

      Also another thing I noticed.

There are not ANY Limit 7-Stud Hi-Lo events, even though Limit 7-Stud Hi-Lo is also a common tournament game in real life.

As far as 7-Stud is concerned - the schedule should be MOSTLY LIMIT 7-Stud HI and 7-Stud Hi-Lo, and only an occasional ( if ever ) Pot Limit event for Stud.

      Most STUD tournaments are LIMIT.....

There is a limit 7 stud Hi/Lo on Saturday

Pot Limit is the game of choice for stud in the UK and we have to cater for them as well
There are 6 limit stud hi games and 3 pot limit stud hi so I think this is a fair balance

True, but shouldn't the times be a bit fairer to those people in the UK, if that's who you're catering to with these tournaments? Only one of them starts during the day there (Thu 7am CST/1 pm GMT), while the others start very late:

            Mon 4pm CST (10pm GMT)
            Tue 7pm CST (1am GMT)
            Wed 5pm CST (11pm GMT)

the whole friday 7pm cst debate has been missed

it is the biggest tourny of the week and the ONE event that is broadcast via fancast and as such if any event is a 400$ buy in then it should be the one.

the only one thing that i would like to see is a 400 or 500 buy in event on friday night at 7:00 p.m. cst. this has always been and is the biggest turnout tournament of the week. please reconsider the buy in amount for this event.

I would like to see a couple more $200 events during the week(M,T, or W) Wednesday is a little dull with only 1 $50 at night. I love the idea of a $400 or $500 buy In on the weekend. I think that setting it to run with either Freddie's show or Top2Pairs show is a great idea as they both do a great job.

Are those amounts correct? And, if so, couldn't there be a $200 PL Omaha event, instead of Limit Omaha?

Living in the Eastern time zone as I do, I did the math and added an hour to the times on the proposed schedule.

It looks as if none of the events I care about start any earlier than 9pm est. And the increase in Omaha ( a popular game, but one I never play) is rather disconcerting.

But what the heck. I'll play when I can, and when I can no longer play that will be the end of that.

i would like to see the limit omaha multis have starting stacks of 1k instead of 500 and some of the pot limit omaha h/l to have stacks of 5k (same progression as the pot limit omaha) instead of the 1k stacks. is this possible??? thanks...

so far, this has been the best schedule proposed, but here are some suggestions/comments which would make more people happier (note: can't make everyone entirely happy):

                            1. i'm assuming that the most popular omaha tournament event in the UK or Europe is Pot Limit Omaha and the most popular omaha tournament event in the US is Limit Omaha Hi/Lo. currently, there are 14 PLO games and 11 LO8 games offered, so the majority of these games should be offered at convenient times for the respective areas and they should be even.
1a. on Monday, make the 20:00 $20 PLO game a LO8 game instead.
1b. on Wednesday, maybe switch the 17:00 $50 LO8 with the 20:00 $100 PLO game
1c. on Saturday, there are 3 PLO games (2 on Sunday), but there aren't any Limit Omaha tourneys at all on the weekend. possibly make the 18:00 PLO a Limit Omaha tourney instead.
if these changes are applied, both the US and UK would be happier and the omaha tourneys would be better balanced (12 PLO, 12 LO8, 8 LO, 6 PLO8 events).

                            2. even though the pot limit Omaha games are appropriately scheduled (especially after taking into account the first suggestion) for the UK, the pot limit Stud games don't seem to be as pointed out by BlackAces. so, on tuesday, switch the 16:00 Limit 7-Stud-Hi Freeroll with the 19:00 $20 Pot Limit 7-Stud-Hi/Lo, and on Wednesday, switch the 16:00 event with the 18:00 event.

                            3. there should be more than 1 Limit 7-Stud Hi/Lo event offered. sunday doesn't offer any stud games and there's empty slots at 10:00, 11:00, 16:00 & 17:00.

                            4. the Friday 7pm CST debate: well, if you make it $400, it will no longer be the biggest (largest attended) tournament of the week since not as many PSO'ers will be able to 'afford' the buy-in. as long as it continues to be broadcasted, maybe there should be sponsorship points added to it by the school or there should be donated sponsorship points or prizes each tourney (i've noticed that some people have been generous enough to donate prizes to these special broadcasted tournaments) which would guarentee the most participants in any weekly event. so, on the PSO schedule, the tournament could read 'Fri 19:00 No-Limit HoldEm $200 w/Added Prizes'. the donated gifts i've witnessed were given out sort of randomly and weren't based upon finishing 1st, 2nd, etc, which is fine as long as at least 1st place is guaranteed a prize.

Freerolls in games other than NLHE.

The addition of the $400 event at times available to a wide number of players.

A new Omaha $200 buy-in event plus 5 freerolls. I wonder what people see in that game anyway?

Quite a bit of shuffling arounds to balance things out.

I rate it as a definite improvement over our current schedule.
