    Jeff,

I'd be interested as I am going to law school up in Sac and the action here blows (so much so that I drive back to the bay every weekend to play cards at LC's, AJ's, or B101). Would you be interested in perhaps hosting a mixed games tourney with a little higher buy in? I'd be happy to play a nice friendly 10-20 cash game or something, not having to pay rent, umm...i mean rake, would be a nice change. Send me the details, I'd be interested...my email is dgchio@yahoo.com

    Later,
    Dan

It sounds like there are a bunch of CHAPS wanna-bes out there. Awesome! It is too fun meeting and hanging out with pokerschoolers. Given my travels, I look forward to playing in this tourney sometime.

Warning to you No. Cal. types, Top2 plays a darn good game. And his buddy Wiscer is no freakin slouch either. (It was great meeting/playing with you two )

                  Hey folks:

This is a friendly home game that has been going on for over 2 years and is played for fun, not for profit. If you are looking to make a lot of money, this is not the game for you. The average buy-in is $10 - $20, so first prize is usuallly between $50 and $100, or more depending on the turnout. It is more like a gathering of friends then a serious cut-throat tourney. It is still a lot of fun with a great group of people. If you want to have a friendly and fun game then this is the place for you, otherwise you might want to find another game.

I live in Sac. area.... and I would be interested in playing...
Send me the address, schedule and ph# to mrmax79@yahoo.com

                    As for Dreams comments....
                    Lucky Derby has a Friday-Sat-Sun nite 8/12 with 1/2kill

Capital Club has 9/18 with 1/2kill every day starting around noon.

The easier game is the lucky derby game, with a wide variety of players and skills, but always has two house players in game.

                    Manteca has some great games...
                    4/8 with full kill
9/18 with half kill one day a week.
15/30 on one day of week either monday or wed.

                    Cache Creek Indian casino offers
6/12 with no kill, but if whole table agrees will move up to half kill.
This game doesn't run everyday, but I have managed get games going if they had the 3/6 with full kill, and have asked the floor mng. to start a list for 6/12 and usually the 3/6 with full kill will convert.

Grassvalley has a No-limit or pot-limit game on Friday night
(I haven't played it yet but the action is suppose to be good)

I like to travel to the bay and play the same places too, because you can get a wider variety of skill and slightly better table selection.
My personal favorite game is the 15/30 at the Oaks in Oakland, this game runs everyday, has 2 props always in the game. The food is comp if you play 15-30. This game is usually very good on Friday nights and Late Saturday-early Sunday.
But if you can play as you are suggesting, I think rather than try to pick clean a close-knit group of friends who regularly meet, you should stick with the clubs...

(I'm not going to tell you which Sac club, but I have made friends with the floor men, and their are some real live games. These games occur several times a month, action "any two card" players show up. If I know these players are in the game, the game is more than a good game to be in.)

I have slowed down the last few months so my stats may be off slightly but I have been a regular for several years now, and things only change slightly.....

I used to live in S.Calif, and my son attends UCLA, so I go several times a year.

S.Calif, has some of the best poker in the USA. The Commerce Club, the Bike, and a half dozen other great places to play. Plus lots of low buy-in tourney's, its a poker heaven....

If your want to try something a little different, drive across the hills to Lake Elsinore and play at their nice poker casino. They offer several weekend tourney's. Lowball used to be the main game when I played there but I am sure there is plenty of LTH now.
You will be playing against a lot of older people, mainly retired Jewish ladies.......

But as for me Commerce Club is the place.... My fav game is their 15/30... Every chance I can go to LA, I do, and try to play for 2 or 3 days at CC...

                          cinn,

thanks for the posts...i have played at capitol and agree with 9-18kill game plays like a 3-6, but I don't like how they don't use holdem cards, instead settling for the big goofy stud cards, so I refuse to go back there. I called the LD and they told me they only run 3-6 omaha and 4-8 holdem, so I never bothered going there. I played in a satellite with you at CSP earlier this year, either Jan. or Feb. Don't know if you remember, I took my AK against KK on Kxx flop in the sat, lol. Never been to the Oaks. Not close to me.

                          I'll see you around...

                            Dreams,
Not sure about the satalite, it wasn't the won I chopped there was it.?

The Lucky Derby game may have finally broke, it was slowing down when I quit playing it.

The big cards at Capital are a problem and annoy me too. The cards are for the older players. Also the game can be a bit loose at times. But it really no different than most 9/18 games. I've played the 9/18 at LC, San Pablo, and the game is pretty much the same. You want to experience loose 9/18 play try the Commerce Club in LA.

The wildest game though is 4/8 full kill at Pacheco. Every hand is usually 5-8 players, capped before the flop, capped on the flop, etc. Not really my cup of tea, but if the cards are workin for you, you can make some quick money.

no, you busted 5th or 6th...it was the day of the limit HE multiple rebuy event...you talked to me about the hand you played against Negreanu down in LA where you had the pocket 2's and they held up. i think the 9 game at captiol is much looser and wilder than LC's...
