  • 5 signs you may be in a 25 cent sng....

    1. In 9 orbits, you are the only one to raise and are never 3 bet.
    2. You raise with AA UTG and get jammed on by 93 suited in the BB because he tells you he "never misses that hand"
    3. at 100/200/25 the short stack limps with 4BB and tank-folds to a raise
    4. at 100/200/25 the BB has 3 big blinds and clearly deserves a walk as you swear at the loser in the SB
    5. when you play 9 way pots at 100/200 in your BB.....

And don't worry....i still only got 7th...solid min cash because clearly i can fold a10 suited with 9 BBs....not.

    LOL,just those 5?

Trust me,you'll be adding to this list. You can also (thankfully...) count on seeing such egregiously bad play in much higher buy-in levels than a 25 center being the rule, not the exception.

On the A10s not folding thing...um,depending on relative stack sizes with 7 left, what the action was in front of me (were there any,if I'm opening I'll happily ship A10s with 9 bigs left...)and player types,I can and have folded A10s and profitably.

    You can too.

Remember, there are many situations in poker where "it depends" is the best thought process.

Further signs you are playing a 25 cent 45 man.

by the 6th hand you are down to four tables
the second hand somebody 3 bets 75 then calls an all in shove
a flopped straight flush is checked to show down
the same player that flopped the straight flush plays for stacks with a flopped AA and a 3 kicker next hand
that same player busts out shoving third pair

This is is just in the first two levels of a SNG I am playing now. Is there any wonder why I go down to the 25 centers when I am in a downswing.

        Good luck

I wish all the 25c games were this soft! There are always a few really terrible (but often very lucky) players, but there are tons of nits that are also grinding these games, and the bubble can take an age to burst. :/

            • You've yet to complete a hand at your table but the average stack size is approaching T$2000

Yes, I was the first one in, I would have re-evaluated if there was action in front, even with these players they were raising few hands so it would not be profitable to shove. Plus the blinds all had 20BB stacks so they could fold to a shove i think with not much worry.

              2 more today....

              1. On the first hand, someone shoves all in and gets 6 callers and 22 wins in the end, because he clearly called with 3 all ins in front of him.
              2. You raise the BB shorty on the money bubble and he folds for half his stack when no one else has less than 10 BBs.

I can narrow it down to one.... when every play made by an opp makes you say.... What in the world were they thinking?!

A lot of these observations are the same ones I made on the #300+$20 play money game for 27 players.

My bad, I forgot play money action is nothing like real money. Players in real money games are more responsible. Otherwise, I could expound on that list.
