  • Playing JJ and QQ late in MTT tournament (in the money)

Last night i was playing MTT tournament and while in the money i got jacks twice. First time i raised big blind and another player showed, i called and turned out he had AK fortunately i won the coinflip. Later i got jacks again and another player 3 bet i folded and he showed QQ. In another tourney i had QQ another player 3 bet me i just called flop came 23K we both checked turn came Q i bet he showed i called he showed KK. I'm just wondering for future how those hands should be played . is it ok to fold QQ and JJ preflop to 3 bet?? or would that be considered too tight? Should I just call with those hands to see the flop and if i dont hit my set then fold? Thanks in advance.

it's going to greatly depend on reads for the opps. If the opp is playing extremely tight, I may fold the JJ to the 3-bet preflop. To any tight opp, they'll normally have at least 2 overs, if not have you dominated.

QQ, I'm playing in that situation, regardless. Don't know your raise or their 3-bet amounts, but shoving the set of Q I'll do every time... unless there is a straight or flush out there on the board.

Stack sizes and payout info will also play into all of these decisions. This information is a necessity here.

      Reads Positions and stack sizes

Also it is very hard to read pockets hitting a set, because you only see 1 card out of 3.
