Was doing my nightly review and noticed something that got me thinking about King rag and Ace rag hands.

I seem to have a bad cutoff for these hands and will look to fix it in the next week.

I have some big losses with A6 and K6 and when I look at hands below that I notice that the losses drop off and above that the profits increase. So I will adjust my cut off point and see if I get a improvement.

So any one else notice a issue with a cutoff point for these two hands Ace rag and King rag?

Think with the Aces its me shoving into the blinds attempting to steal, not sure about the Kings, maybe facing droolers Im not giving them enough respect. Will review more and see what I find.

Hmmm...Now Im really interested. Got looking at my Queens and Jacks and its about the same issue. If I adjust and think about folding anything 6 and lower for rags I might have something.

        Interesting post
I never had you down as an ace or king ragger
Are they suited or off and what positions are you playing them in
A6-A9 and K9 down are auto mucks for me

Play money it might be, but I'm of the same mind. If Ace-rag isn't suited, it's an auto fold. As to the King-rag or Queen-rag, those get folded even faster. Will be interesting to see how others consider these hands. Unless my memory is faulty, I don't remember kicking myself too often for missing a winner with those cards.

As you can see i do not have quite a drop between A7 and A6 I wonder if the differant stlye of play affects these stats A6s had VPIP of 52% Ekkkk this is only From August which is also when i started taking tips from PSO

            Sample size is 54,000 hands

ok for nov Vpip for A6s is 43 % (29/67 times) hmmm i think you found a leak for me I seecookies. After i get back from town i shall investgate more.

Rag sidecard hands are often a fold, they are never an auto fold. DUCY?

When you do your analysis grade b, make sure to coordinate win % and VPIP/PFR and win rate. For instance, if you look at your K4o, your VPIP is below your win % when receiving the hand, which indicates to me many of the times you won with it was when you held it in the BB in an unraised pot. Almost 3% of the time you decided to put chips in with it, were you picking good times? You can check this by filtering for K4o as the starting hand and VPIP=True (this is under "more filters" in HEM, not sure about PT), then you'll be seeing just those times you voluntarily put chips in, hopefully mostly raising, and check your win rate in bb/100. For me there's a big drop off in VPIP below A7o... A2o-A6o my vpip is all 5% or lower, and A7o it's 12.8% and goes up from there. So I filtered A2o-A6o for VPIP = true. The times I'm picking to play these (75-80% of the time for a raise) my won hand % is between 54-67%, but my win rate in bb/100 is negative for all of them. So now a good review for me is where I'm going wrong to screw up the win rate. My guess off the top of my head is that I'm going too far with steals when the opponents hit their hand and don't respond by going away, and/or I'm too stubborn at times when I flop an ace and am beat. Time to go do my own review. Thanks guys. umbup:

Took a look at the biggest losses I'm incurring in these spots. The vast majority of them initiate as a steal or 3b resteal in situations that are good for such plays, so no problem there. The problem has been when I've run into a hand, overplaying/over-pressing my steal attempt. It's not something I do frequently but it is a problem I know I've had at times, this review has helped resurface my awareness of the problem, which will help me consciously plug this leak going forward. umbup:

Had to reformat my laptop last week, so I was able to get PT3 again small sample size only 2300 hands but my SB VPIP seems way out of wack I played probably 75 6 max hyper turbos maybe that influences it.... any ideas or other glaring weakness you see?
