  • Open League Leader disqualified?

I just noticed that the overnight Open league leader (a Belgian played called "kerenk") has had his name removed from the standings and his scores wiped.

Any thoughts? Is disqualification the only likely explanation?

Well that would have been my first thought roomik.

What I dont get is that he only hit the top spot within the last 48 hours. And the league still has a day to go so he isnt even guaranteed to finish top. Yet he has already had his name removed from the leaderboard and (presumeably) had his Stars account frozen/terminated. That seems to be very quick.

Probably been investigated in the last 2-3 weeks and a course of action taken against them

It doesn't have to be League related. That happens when PS frozes an account for any reason. The suspension is reflected on the PSO profile too. They usually do it whille investigating, so this doesn't prove anything , unless it stays frozen for good.

Due to recent changes in the licensing, we are currently reviewing the services we are able to offer our players in Belgium.

This meant that from the 1st August 2011, it became necessary for us to discontinue all promotion offers to Belgian players. This includes the Skill league promotion and any quiz prizes.

There was a technical glitch with the leaderboard that allowed that player to be included. We have now corrected that glitch.

If I understand it correctly, you are trying to force the Belgian players to play at Pokerstars.be rather than at Pokerstars.com.

Don't think it's PokerStar trying to force but rather Belgium forcing PokerStars
Just like France, Italy and others

The Belgian state does not hold any leverage to force pokerstars to do this. They can not ban Pokerstars from the Belgian market in anyway, they tried that already and failed.
So why is Pokerstars playing along then?

Then to be perfectly frank, it is far from good enough to be waiting until the penultimate day of the month to "spot" and "correct" this "glitch". Kerenk has put a lot of hours in and has deserved his/her spot at the top. To suddenly decide that he/she is no longer eligible a mere 48 hours before the end of the league is incredibly poor form. If I was in kerenk's shoes, I would be absolutely furious at being MISLED in this way. I feel really bad for the guy. Either you are eligible or you are INeligible. If you are INeligible for the Skill League promotion, then you should not be able to register for the Skill League tournaments. Maybe PokerStars should at least TRY to keep its players in the loop so that players know "where they are at" before they participate in any promotion, instead of operating this "dont deal with it now, deal with it later" policy. Or is that too much to ask? What's next for kerenk? Are you going to take his Platinum VIP status off him AFTER he has spent money acquiring the VPPs he needed to get that status?

And one last question, IF he is ineligible for this promotion due to his nationality, then why is he playing in the Open League tournament that started at 1300ET?

Looks like that "glitch" has not been fully corrected

                              ...
Is that even legal? It seems like discrimination to me.
