  • Come try some "Poker Role Playing"!

    Howdy folks.

I do not know how many of you follow the Hand analysis forum, but for those who don't, I think there is something going on over there that you might like...

We have started a serie of threads called "Duplicate Poker".

The idea of this is that each week, there is posted in the HA forum a "situation". You are given reads on opponents, their past tendencies, etc, and are presented with action, exactly as you would face in the play of an actual poker hand.

The idea is for you to think through all the info you have been give, consider as much as you can about poker, and decide upon what action you would perform in that spot. You will then be given a chance to "vote" for the action you think is best. Each "street" in a given hand will take 2 days to play, so there is plenty of time to discuss your thoughts about the hand, and see what others are thinking about the same spot.

All the potential "results" of the actions you MIGHT decide to do have been "created" already, so the "effect" of your decision will remain consistent for this hand; whether your decision was the "chosen" option (by vote) or not. At the END of each hand, I will "open the book" on all the actions we did NOT decide to take, and their results.

Thus far, trying this has generaed some really GOOD thoughts aobut playing this funny game, and some really good info aobut how to USE info you might have collected. The discussion and debate aobut what we "should" do is the real poitn, but I think it is pretty "fun" way to study a lot of valid poker thoughts...

So I invite EVERYONE to check out the Hand analysis Forum, and read thru the "Duplicate Poker: Hand #2" post.

There is right now roughly 24 hours left for you to check it out, and add YOUR thoughts (and votes) for the current street!

    So hurry, hurry, hurry!!!

    Give it a try!

    I think you'll like it!

I think it's a great learning tool, it gives you a whole new perspective on what other people might be thinking during the course of a hand. If you want to improve your game, you should at least come and read through the hand.

              Great idea!
Got in a bit late, but read through the hand and slept on it-then read through the comments.
I'll participate on the next street for sure.
