  • Is it easier to win money in live poker than online?

Also, what limits do most casinos usually have as their lowest?
What are some tips to winning?

  • #2
The card room nearnest me speads $2/4 as their lowest limit and that is the game I usually play there, but sometimes I mix it up with 4/8 o8b. All the games here are limit and I find them really easy to win at. With a sample of about 120 hours I found I can make about $10 per hour at the $2/4. The trick is to just find a new table if there aren't enough idiots at your table. I don't know what the situation is elsewhere though.

One main difference you will notice is less of those cyber tough guy pukes that talk smack through the safety of online anonymity....

You might be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you'll dance with the reaper.

Pres, casinos require bigger bankrolls (no micro stakes, no Skill League freerolls), and for me poker rooms are just too far away. Why don't you use some of your political muscle and get DOJ to let us back on Poker Stars! umbup: Are you playing anywhere online now?

Well, I think casinos have at least 1/2... so I can sit down with 50 bucks and concentrate on one table...

Nope, I don't know where else I should play online? I also don't like depositing.

Most poker rooms have a 1/2 no limit and a 2/4 limit table.

The best poker tables to play at are on cruise ships.
People are relaxed just wanting to have fun.
You will also have good poker players on the ship but they too dummy down their play.
Last summer I cruised the eastern carribean. I payed off my cruise tab of $1300.00 with the $1500.00 I won playing poker.

Just be aware of the rake on the ship. VERY HIGH!

LOL. Whomever could you mean? Plus some internet trolls will find that should they take their "game" live and talk 1/100th of the chit there that they do on-line they'll prolly need to book about $10K a session just to cover hospital expenses. umbup:

You might also want to check out the state laws. For example, our cheapest game is 3/6 kill, and no limit is illegal, except in tourneys.

As to easier / harder, that depends. I've seen tables the pros would have a hard time cracking at the lowest level and other tables that any player with modest skills can dominate. Biggest difference between live and online is the number of hands. Online you can play around fifty to sixty per hour. Live dealers will deal around thirty. That means your luck better be good out of the gate since you'll have fewer opportunities at winning.

Forget talking at these tables. Most players will not even say hello once the dealing starts. They will ignore you, though they will note what you say. Try throwing the bull, or intimidation via the insult, and the best you can hope for is a mild censor from the floor. Worse is being asked to leave.

Every game is different, filled with different players so it is impossible to say which is easier to win at. If you are struggling to win online, move tables or change the limits your playing at, just like you would in a live game.
It's a fair question to ask as both disciplines of the game do a require a different skill set, if you are just starting out though it could be less embarrassing (that's if you do get embarrassed) making mistakes online first before going to a live game. You will see alot more hands an hour online than you would live and the more experience you pick up quickly the better you should/could become in a shorter period of time.

I find its easier to collect prop bets playing live for some strange reason. Cant always do that online.
