  • 100 stack with blinds 1/2

    Consider this situation:

You're playing a $1/$2 cash game, 9 people. You're dealt AQo with a 100 chipstack. You're UTG and you raise to 8, the cut off and the button call with a total pot now of 27. The flop comes 5cQh6c. Your chiptstack after the preflop raise is now 92. There chipstack is now 148 and 122. How do you proceed with the hand? I was thinking of proceeding with this hand based on STP (stack to pot ratio), which in this instance is 3.4 and I believe that is perfect for this hand. So do I chip the remaining stack or what?

Pot = 27 (less rake) = 22 to 25 depending on where you play. Yes, you should consider the rake as it affects your long term profits.

You don't have to worry about the other stacks (any money >$92) because you are short & have the effective stack @($92), ($122 or $148 or $1000 doesn't matter).

You have TPTK & should bet approximate 66%($17) to 75%($19) of the pot to extract some value. This will make your play on the turn rather automatic. You will have STPR =< 2 & you can shove the turn.

Why would you want to shove ($92) into ($25)?
