  • Defending BB

Recently,i have read many articles on defending my BB-- and my ? is this-- early on in a mtt-- is it +ev- to defend, at the risk , at the risk of going out? or should i just let it go, and steal it back, ???

Early in an MTT, the blinds are pretty small. Not big enough to risk precious chips to steal them. From all the training materials I have seen, that view seems to be the consensus. In that case, if a good player is attacking your blinds early in an MTT, then they probably have a good hand.

If someone actually seems to be stealing your blinds in this situation, I would think the best approach is to let it go unless you hit a big hand, but make a note and be ready to surprise them with a resteal if they are still trying it later when the blinds are bigger, and you can recoup your earlier losses and then some.

we are always trying to keep pots small and so if we have good odds to see a cheap flop no reason not to. Be very careful not to get married to your hand as it is more important to have a read on the player/s in with you as you are always OOP ( out of position ) unless it is just the small blind.

Here's my tip for the blinds. Pay them. Treat them as tax. Avoidable only in exceptional circumstances.
