  • Why no bounty for me?

I sent a query to support about this. Interesting that the winner of the main pot does not win the bounty.

You have to knock someone out. That's how it works. You didn't have enough chips to knock anyone out in this hand.

I believe that Freckldgator has a case for winning the bounty in this case. Even though he had the least amount of chips to start the hand, there was a side pot involved, and this makes a difference in how the chips were distributed.

The side pot between de_luss and BJD1231 was won by de_luss and lowered BJD1231's chip stack from 3185 to 2220 chips going into the main pot. This is the same amount that Freckldgator had and since Freckldgator won the main pot, he did actually knock out BJD1231. The fact that de_luss had more total chips is irrelevant because he only had 2220 chips at risk, the same as the other 2 players. The way I see it, the only way that de_luss could claim the bounty is if the main pot was settled first, which doesn't appear to be the case.

Freck can not eliminate the player, only a bigger stack than the player can eliminate him.

Easiest way to see this is pretend the big stacked player had folded pre, and it was just Freck and the other guy . Freck wins the pot, and the other guy still has chips left and remains in the tourney.

Edit: I do get what you're saying Ray, but you're looking at it backwards.

The side pot is awarded first because Freck has no stake in that pot and can not contest it. That has no impact on who's credited with a KO however. Freck starts the hand with 2220 chips, any player who starts the hand with more chips than that can not be eliminated by Freck no matter what happens. Only players that cover them can eliminate them. Freck won 2220 chips from the player in question, but that did not bust him. What busted him was that he continued to wager the rest of his remaining chips with a third player who did have him covered.

            Hope this helps.

                Thanks for the answers..makes sense.
TBH I put it out of my head until the tourney was done when it got to bugging me and I didn't think it through.

                And Sens:
I did eventually get THAT player's bounty and finished well in the tourney, so it's all good.
