05.00 GMT. The DON's are gone.

This is a sad day for me. It's also one that I believe Stars will come to regret. The traffic on the rival sites has taken a noticeable dip since the start of the year. It seems to me that that is about to be reversed as the DON diehards now migrate to the sites that still offer these games. Their ability to keep hold of the new customers could depend on whether they reduce their registration fees to that which Stars charged, as many people were willing to accept the relatively small ROI in return for the low variance these games offered. The 25% increase (10% rather than 8%) may now make them unviable, but I'm certain there will be an awful lot of people giving it a go before deciding whether they should switch to a new game.

Well. I wonder if this story is going to be typical.

Rather than make an immediate migration I decided to look for something else on here that took my fancy. So I played a $5.50 27 man SNG. And won it. So I banked almost as much as an average month's PSO payout in less than the time it takes to cash in a league game.

Now I'm not silly enough to believe that one game is any indication of how I might fare in these over the long haul, but the game seemed pretty soft all the way through. So for the time being, it looks like not only will I be content to live without the DON's, but quite possibly the league as well.

It's strange how so often in life you don't make the smart decision until forced. Maybe this is one of those moments.

Actually, the 50 50s are more profitable than the DoN's. I had a hard time cashing in the DoNs because the players were all playing so tight. But the 50 50's so far seem to be far looser and easier to cash in.

Can't stop at one dude. You have 80 points on Venus with 19 left to play for an orbit. Go get 'em.

I have two or three DoNs going at a time over at Everest Poker as a matter of course now. Everything else revolves around them rather than the other way around.

I Have found this to be true , that is why I prefer them. But then everyone has their preference based on their own experience.

Haven't played a Fifty50 yet, but I did win every Double or Nothing I played. Gonna give the Fifty50s a shot, but now I have to do more than fold every hand, haha.

Well I'm not sure that I'm ready to make these my new game of choice, but I played a couple more. Placed 4th and 5th. So that's a 100% cash rate so far.

                      It won't last

                        1st place Venus is at 574 -- 10th is at 459. Last week's first was 565 and 10th was 489.

You are pacing at 800 points. Think you might want to play a few more?

Just for the uninitiated what is or was a Don?

I think of the Godfather personally.
