I will admit I'm surprised... usually a post like this includes a hand history where someone's powerhouse got cracked by some piece of cheese. For all the complaints that frequent the forums about how the worst hand always wins, in this hand history the best hand actually led wire to wire for the win, just as it will roughly 80% of the time. Yeah it stings flopping a set and still losing the hand, but QQ usually loses to AA. It's just a cooler. Consider Jim's question... it may sound like he's just being smart, but the truth is hands like this are a normal part of poker. Everywhere.

Dave's 1000% on point Drew,it may be a cooler hand but it's just standard..Would you be more at ease if it was something like 55 you vs. 77 villian and you both blank to the river? Because the scenario and result would be the same, you had an under pair vs. an over pair. I'm not Forum-manipulatuon savvy enough to find it but effsea posted a thread around a hand of mine from a .25 45 man SNG back in October or maybe early November. The wind-up was it was stage 1 or 2 and I forget the exact raise/re-raise particulars but I had KK and the flop came AKx,rainbow I believe (seen alot of other crushing beats since so can't remember all the details, lol). Villian makes a big raise,I re-raise all-in. Villain turn over A10. Turns an Ace. Okay I have a boat K's over Aces, she has trip Aces. All good. Rivers a frigging Ace. THAT'S a bad beat to quads my friend. And you better learn to get used to them. I'm trying myself. Many times you may take a tough beat but there is something different/better you could have done to affect the outcome before that beat came to stop it from happening in the first place. And many times you can do something after the beat comes to sniff it out and limit the damage. These are the ones you can analyze and learn from. And sometimes there's simply nothing you can do but accept the fact that Fate is a cruel and wicked mistress indeed. And then go bust a cap off in a penguin's azz. umbup:

I agree with you Dave and Moxie. I understand it happens. Just seems to be happening alot lately. Now that might be due to me playing a bit more and seeing it happen more and more. Hurts me the most is 90% of these times its me losing on the river. Someone hitting runner runner or something.

Anyways. I know I'm a sucker and will keep on trying. Need to work on a new strategy to try and grow. I know its about bankroll management. And I only play usually 4 tables at max. I wish there were more lower 1 table sngs. maybe starting at 25c. I know there is multitable ones but sometimes just goes on too long. And the usual happens to me. Played a 55c 27 player today and end up 8th. when I think only 5 cash.

It will come I know, but when???

Drew, if you are on the losing end most of the time when the river card changes the outcome of the hand, then you are playing good poker. It means you are getting in with the best hand most of the time.
