    What is the actual loss on a -5% ROI on winnings of $1181 with an Average buy in of $2.53

  • #2
    ROI = (total winnings-total buyin)/total buyin
    total won or lost = total winnings-total buyin

    avg buy-in is irrelevant

      My head is telling me $23.

      My head also says that the $23 loss is dependant upon the $1181 being a net win and not a gross win.

      But now I'm confused so don't believe a word that I say.

            Divide your "winnings" by 100 less your negative ROI. Which in this case gives you 95.

            Multiply the answer by 100 to ascertain the amount staked. This gives you $1,243.16.

            Subtract your "winnings" from the amount staked. Answer = $62.16.

            There are other ways of doing it, but this is the way that most people get their head around it.
