  • PSO Convention Update

Ok, here goes with what i have so far -

    1. There is no contact at The Horseshoe or The Goldstrike for the PSO convention - Theresa takes reservations for the WPO. Information regarding the PSO tournament and
convention will have to come from us at PokerSchoolOnline.
I also will be the one that has to verify PSO members once they arrive in Tunica. This maybe difficult for me as i have not confirmed which dates i will be arriving in Tunica myself yet, but i am sure i will be able to work something out and i am sure this verification is only required for the tournament and seminar.
If you have made a room booking then when you get there just register as per a normal hotel booking and no need to mention PSO. If you are one of the fortunate ones to have won one of the 20 block rooms at $25 per night i will have sorted out the reference before January with Teresa. ( details of the freeroll tournament on PSO for attending members to distribute the block of rooms to be announced)
Do not keep calling them as they will get a little upset, and they are being so very kind to host this event in the first place. Bother me, as that is what i will be here for, you can email me at anytime on tina@pokerpages.com

It will not be necessary for members to pre register with the casino for the tournament, but i have to supply a full list of names to the casino, so i will be putting a registration form on this forum in the next few days for you to fill out with your details, how many attending, playing in tournament, and attending seminar etc, and then i can collate this together and give them the information they require nearer to the time of the event. I will also email out to your email address's just in case a member that intends to go, doesn't visit the forum.
I really need to have this information as soon as i can so i can begin planning things for the convention.

There will be no charge for the convention, but i want to let you know that i have agreed for Tunica to advertise the seminars to the local players to attend if they wish for a small fee, as way of helping the casino towards the cost of everything.

I want to point out to all of you that they have been extremely generous at Tunica with what they are offering to us.

The Seminar will take place in the theatre on the 11th. We are planning to start at 10am, and the casino is going to provide an exclusive breakfast for PSO members from 9.00am - 9.45am prior to the speakers starting.

The tournament that they are proposing we have is a $200 No Limit Hold'em, with a $30 entry fee ( This is to cover the costs of the dealers and staff that will be helping with our convention)
This will be held on the 9th of January, and i want to point out that this is also the first day of the WPO. The details of this event will have to be approved by the gaming commission. It maybe necessary to host the PSO tournament when it starts in both The Horseshoe card room and The Goldstrike cardroom, but of course bringing into one location once the tables are broken down sufficiently. All Members that enter the tournament will be provided with a comp meal ticket, and i have to say the buffet last year was fabulous so if it is the same again, well worth it.

All the above is based on maximum of 100 players in the tournament and also the seminar, so please let me know as soon as you can, and if we are way over the 100, then i have time to speak to them again.

I have heard from a some of the members that wish to offer their services to putting together the convention, and i am extremely grateful, as you can appreciate organising this from Spain could prove to have its difficulties.
I will be in touch with those members that emailed me in the next week,so see what each of you can do, and have a game plan in place.

I am in the process of appointing a new dean of the school and i am hoping that this person will accept my offer, and he has also showed willing to attend the convention in person and collate all the speakers together.

Speak to you all again soon

    Take Care

    Tina

    WOW!!!!

I am gonna start saving now for the tourney!! It sounds wonderful.

Let's spread the word and get a HUGE turnout. Wouldn't it be great if we filled that 100 entrant tourney totally??
