  • $5.50 MTT, Super tough river decision ?

It is $5.50 MTT with less then 160 runners. 10mins regular blind structure and 3000 starting stack. He was passive all the way and on a rag river he just went snap all-in that too a over size pot per shove. Does he have a busted flush draw? I have a good hand top pair top kicker but it's just a bluff catcher hand only hands that beat me are QJ and 33. Which I don't know if he will be slow playing them all the way. BTW I beat lot of busted straight and flush draws that just snap shove on river to get fold from me. See the stats and plz tell me if this particular opponent type is capable of doing so. I don't know he can even do that with KQo, he played it like he is bluffing. Coz most probably it's a call like 6 out of 10 times as per my experience. But what should I do in this case, it's super tough decision for anyone ! Hi adi,

I think we should fold here. I tend to agree it's just a bluff catcher, but there are a couple reasons to believe he's not bluffing imo:

-We have shown strength through out the hand, and surely have hands higher up in our range we will never fold (QQ/JJ being the prime examples)

-You have 3905 left in your stack, if he felt like a bluff were a good idea or necessary to win the pot, he could risk much less to successfully do it, like 1200 and fold to a shove by you. He doesn't need to set you all in.

It's possible we are being had by KT or T9, but also possible given he's loose pre and probably defending his blind very wide, that we will run into hands like Q7s, Q5s, 64s, 77, etc. Since it should look like we have a hand strong enough to call at least some reasonable % of the time, the overbet shove looks pretty value-ish to me. So I can find a fold.
