In my experience this is often AK who doesn't want to play the hand post flop. I would fold and wait for a better spot, as we would just be flipping often at the very early stages of the tournament, plus the UTG player may have a strong hand (KK,AA) that would call off also. But I'm no expert

      Hi adi,

      Fold, next hand.

Careful about labeling, when you use the term "maniac" in the title people might think this was a read, but it's only the 3rd hand of the tournament.

Why can't I call if he has AK?

Good question Adi! To be honest, Im used to playing single table SNG's and some books say to not get all in at the early stages of a SNG with QQ or AK as you are often in a coin flip situation, where you will be going out 45-55% of the time and only winning 3x the buy-in maximum if you do go on to win it, (you are still not guaranteed to win anything if you win the flip!)

However in a multi-table tournament I guess this is different , where if you double up early on you get an opportunity to gain a bigger payout at the top end of the tournament. So maybe in a multi-table tournament you would be more happy to take the flip, and just load up another if you lose the flip? Also remember the guy in early pos could have something too in the situation you posted.

Did you call by the way?

I was the UTG, UTG+1 called and SB shoved. So you didn't understand the action properly, UTG+1 just called my preflop raise.

Yes I called and he had AKo
