Hi adikumar2010! I'd have gone about this hand differently. Preflop, I have two options, I can either call and be ready to fire almost any flop or I can 3-bet to 300 (would opt to the higher end of my 3-bet range due to multiple opps in the pot). On the flop, when I hit top pair, I'm absolutely going to lead here for a standard value bet of 3/4 pot (368). I do not want to bet less, as everyone with a draw now gets the right price to be in the hand. If I give them the right odds and lose, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. On the turn, I'm going to lead out again with a standard value bet of 1/2 pot. By doing so, I can represent the flush and also KT. By checking, the opp knows that I am afraid of the king and the flush. Since they know this, if I'm the opp, I'm firing the turn here basically each and every single time... and they know I can't call (their bet is way too big and totally polarizes their hand too, as they have Kx, a flush or total air.. and I'd say they probably have air the overwhelming majority of the time here unless I have a note that they make pot bets like this. If they do, they're VERY easily exploitable). Playing this hand with a passive, strong, passive line says to them that I don't have a hand and took a shot to try and win it on the flop and am now giving up... so they should take the pot. By leading both streets, all of the made hands are still within my range and makes my decisions in the hand that much easier. If I get raises on the turn, I can easily fold, knowing I'm beat. If they call, I still have a number of outs to improve as they can call here with Kx.. not just a flush. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24) Tweet this hand on Twitter using the Tweet button above for a chance to win a seat in the next $5,000 guaranteed Big Bang tournament.
