  • Question about sngmtts

How different is the 45 90 180 360 player turbo sngs?

What is the difference in strategy?

Arent they all basicly the same thing with just a different amount of players?

The reason Im asking is because some people told me if I want to play sngs/mtts to just stick to one format dont mix them all in.

But how different are these really does the strategy change?

It probably depends on how you mix them in.

45man & 90man are virtually identical and 180man & 360man I would probably say the same. As long as they are all turbos I don't think don't think you'll suffer to much.

Only other thing to consider is length of time to play. If you are playing all the same type and you play them in batches then the number of games you have going at once reduce as you approach the final tables and heads up which gives you more time to make better decisions when it matters the most.

Personally I like to play all the same type just so there is nothing else to think about.

The main problem I've found is adapting to the different payout structures and how they change the ICM decisions at the end of the tournament. What could be a push or call in one format is a clear fold in another.

A clear example would be a 90 man which pays out 13 spots, where you're clearly ITM on final table as opposed to the 45 man which pays out 7 spots, meaning you are still waiting for 2 more to bust.
