  • Hot $3.30 Turbo, Can I fold 2 pairs?

It is Hot $3.30 Turbo. I don't know why but I think I should fold my 2 pairs? I wanted to raise 4x preflop but I didn't see limp that's why I raised 3x preflop. Hey Adikumar,

    His line is strange - limp/call check/call check/raise
My guess he is a loose, bad aggro player, but worst case scenarios : he slowplayed a set or made a flush OTT, I think you can call here and because you have position re-evaluate river (you have outs to make the full house) - maybe consider a shove on a less than shove bet or even a check from him, or fold to a shove.
If he has the nuts here, and a bit of sense, he wouldn't pot the turn considering his line. With the nuts and the OTF/OTT line taken a call and bluff inducing bet OTR is more appropriate on his side.

    Regards.

Hi adikumar2010! Early in a tourney like this with the maniacs still in, I'd actually pass on opening 78s unless I'm in the button or cutoff. Mid position is normally asking for trouble due to possible aggro opps after me (I'd have to fold to a raise). If I did want to play it from mid position, with a limp in front of me, I'm going to call behind and not raise. On the flop, when I hit two pair, I'm absolutely going to make a standard 1/2 pot value bet. The turn puts 3 to a flush out there, but is also a broadway card that the opp could have easily hit. I'm going to make another standard 1/2 pot value bet. The opp now raises to 600. I'm going to call this raise and re-evaluate on the river. If the river is a 4, 6, 9 or club, my plan is to check/fold. If it's anything else, I'm going to check and call any reasonable river bet (1/2 pot or under). I'm not going to fold on the turn, as while the opp could have a flush, there are plenty of hands that they could do this with (Qx or a single club) that I'm ahead of. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24) Tweet this hand on Twitter using the Tweet button above for a chance to win a seat in the next $5,000 guaranteed Big Bang tournament.
