  • Is it a shove !!

Can I shove this ? What's the minimum I need to shove in this situation like 88+ AQs+ ? It's a freebuy satellite to $11 Big Bang Main event. We can rebuy/addon for $1 but entry is free through "School Pass" ticket that we get for attending live training. So it's a freeroll but I assume players are normal as they are PSO members and also they have some bankroll to take addon/rebuys, therefore not complete fish infested freeroll. Hi adikumar2010! Do NOT make an assumption on a player's ability by the game type or buy-in. If you do so, you're going to be sorely mistaken the overwhelming majority of the time and get yourself into unnecessary trouble. Only base how a player plays on what you have seen from them in the past. I get a shove and a reshove in front of my JJ. I now need to go to pokerstove and see what my equity is against their ranges (11% and tighter than 15%, I'll use 8%, half of their raise range, since the opp has not 3-bet before). The result is that my JJ has 39.9% equity. To play the hand, I'll reshove, but need to put 2087 into a pot that will be 6147 (34.0%). Since my hand equity is higher than my pot equity, I'm reshoving. The range that I'll play (that will be +EV), is TT+, AK+ lower pairs than tens and AQs are -EV re-shoves here and due to that, I'll need to fold those hands. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
