  • I am scared?

It is $11 Phased tournament it's new to pokerstars with 2 Day's (Phase 1 = Day 1 and Phase 2 = Day) and I am playing Phase 2 so I am ITM now and it has 10mins blind level. Pay-jumps are not very huge around 389 players left, 585 were paid It's 10mins regular game so plenty of time and making FT is huge money I don't know what to do he 4-bet me and I have super healthy stack with 39BB way above average stack (which is like 20BB) PokerStars Hand #117269985089: Tournament #917161048, $10+$1 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level II (1250/2500) - 2014/06/08 22:17:40 IST [2014/06/08 12:47:40 ET] Table '917161048 14' 9-max Seat #1 is the button Seat 1: maselfo (150811 in chips) Seat 2: dcoates3 (47946 in chips) Seat 3: Just_lucky76 (72432 in chips) Seat 4: ideal62 (24319 in chips) is sitting out Seat 5: SAMPA-SP (7656 in chips) is sitting out Seat 6: kriispirolls (133128 in chips) Seat 7: adikumar2010 (96774 in chips) Seat 8: Marker777s (84038 in chips) Seat 9: JakeF2001 (52450 in chips) maselfo: posts the ante 250 dcoates3: posts the ante 250 Just_lucky76: posts the ante 250 ideal62: posts the ante 250 SAMPA-SP: posts the ante 250 kriispirolls: posts the ante 250 adikumar2010: posts the ante 250 Marker777s: posts the ante 250 JakeF2001: posts the ante 250 dcoates3: posts small blind 1250 Just_lucky76: posts big blind 2500 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to adikumar2010 [ ] ideal62: folds SAMPA-SP: folds kriispirolls: raises 2500 to 5000 adikumar2010: raises 7500 to 12500 Marker777s: folds JakeF2001: folds maselfo: folds dcoates3: folds Just_lucky76: folds kriispirolls: raises 15000 to 27500 adikumar2010: STATS :

Hi adikumar2010! Being ITM already, my next goal in a tourney is to build a FT chip stack. With a premium made hand in QQ, I get 4-bet by an opp that has a 3% 3-bet but has not 4-bet yet. The key for me here is MY stats. If the opp is noticing, I'm 3-betting an abnormally HUGE percentage of the time. This says that the opp's 4-bet range may be lighter than normal, as they're probably tired of seeing us 3-bet. With this being the case, I'm probably looking at all 3% of their 3-bet range and possibly an even wider range. I'm ahead of a 3% range and am an even higher favorite against a wider range... so I'm 5-bet shoving. I do not want to flat and see an A or K on the flop, as it could let the opp see that they have a made hand and it also opens me up to being bluffed. Yes, the two hands that beat me ARE in the opp's range, but being ahead of the opp's range and already having a made hand... I'm going with it before they can see a card that can beat me. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24) P.S. If I'd be scared of getting it in here, then I'd probably be playing out of my bankroll and should have picked a lower buy-in tourney.

You are right john, I was 3-betting a lot sometimes from SB with 44 to a button open, sometimes with AA from Hi-Jack to a MP open, sometimes with JKs from Button to CO open.

Can you tell me if I played it fine:

A flop like this is exactly why I want to shove preflop... if they see they hit an A.. no way could I ever get them to fold and now I would be getting the chips in with 2 outs, not preflop when I'm ahead.

So his all-in call to my 5-bet shove is correct, should I also call if I am in his shoes?

My 5-bet shove was screaming I have QQ, KK, AA to a sane player.

Yeah. I'm not folding AK here if I'm the opp. If I was the opp, I'd put more than QQ+ in your range. I'd add JJ, TT, AK and maybe even AQ (since you were 3-betting wide).

Just my 2 cents Since I'm a nit....lol I would call his re-raise as his 3-bet seems strong AA, KK AK This would leave me with 69k in chips = 25BB If a A or K hits the flop, I check fold If no A or K I shove Now, it also depends on the notes you have (not HUD), it depends if you don't care going out now, it depends on your BR and will play lots more of theses games......depends umbup:

I feel he made a very bad call for his whole stack when I 5-bet shove, he will at best be 45% fav if I had 55 or something.

I don't know if they should be calling my 5-bet shove with AKo for there whole stack, when I showed super strength.

It's a call due to your range (especially your 3-bet range)... if your 5-bet range is say the top half of your 3-bet range.. AK is ahead, as a 55% favorite.

But point is JWK, why would you risk your whole tourny life for 40BB with AK and that too calling a 5-bet shove. Ok he might think I am 3-betting light which made him 4-bet AK, maybe if I was playing tight he will flat my 3-bet now he has more reason to 4-bet me as my 3-bet% is high. But that doesn't mean I will be shoving 5-bet light.

Do you recommended me also stacking off to JJ or QQ, with my AK in similar situation. I mean is it necessary to flip for 40BB in slow 10 min game.

If I think my AK is ahead (which it is if you'd 5-bet even half your 3-bet range)... then I'm happy playing it.. because I'm AHEAD.

Even if I know it's a flip, due to the chips already in the middle due to the 4-bet and the action in front of me, it's a +EV play to get it in.

If I was playing a nit, then AK is an easy fold, but against the range you're playing in this game, AK is a snap all-in.

Thanks I am not so unhappy really. As I was 56-44 fav and this double up would mean I am making top 40 for sure. This is the best I could hope AK or JJ maybe.
