  • 14/16 MTOPS, Can I make FT?

I am like 14/16 in the MTOPS #49 #1.10, 5 mins level turbo game. At this point I don't want to make any mistakes , as making FT pays the real money as we know but at the same time I need to chip up. I have 6.7BB and next hand I will be BB. So I am on UTG and 7 players to go through . I just want to know if I can shove with this hand . If I check my shove chart it's on the exact borderline. And you can see the guys behind me are not exactly afraid to call. But I am in a situation where I can not wait for hands and might need to gamble as next hand blind goes up as message already popped up on screen. If next level BB & SB goes over me, I will be left with like less then 4BB with zero fold equity . Payjumps are not huge until you reach final table. 6BB and 7 Players to go through: 22+ A2s+ A8o+ K8s+ KTo+ Q9s+ QJo J9s+ T8s+ 98s But I am not sure if I should follow the standard shove chart as I am closing in on the FT I mean usually when FT is appproaching in I am not sure if I should wider my shove range or narrow it so that I can make FT Payout Structure: Full Tilt Poker Game #34291662963: MTOPS Event #49 (266268662E1), Table 111 - NL Hold'em - 12000/24000 Ante 3000 - 08:39:28 IST - 2014/06/04 [23:09:28 ET - 2014/06/03] Seat 1: vrub0n (244,184) Seat 2: luito25 (471,537) Seat 3: HYPOPLASMA (425,734) Seat 4: michel8848 (108,859) Seat 5: adikumar2010 (162,676) Seat 6: jwjhooper (288,411) Seat 7: Killerguzzi (309,776) Seat 9: rastafari8986 (310,926) vrub0n antes 3,000 luito25 antes 3,000 HYPOPLASMA antes 3,000 michel8848 antes 3,000 adikumar2010 antes 3,000 jwjhooper antes 3,000 Killerguzzi antes 3,000 rastafari8986 antes 3,000 HYPOPLASMA posts the small blind of 12,000 michel8848 posts the big blind of 24,000 The button is in seat #2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to adikumar2010 [ ] adikumar2010: jwjhooper: Action Pending Killerguzzi: Action Pending rastafari8986: Action Pending vrub0n: Action Pending luito25: Action Pending HYPOPLASMA: Action Pending michel8848: Action Pending STATS :

Hi adikumar2010! The chart that I use is a bit wider than the one you're looking at, espeiclly for the lower end of the range (although for Axo, mine is A8o+). The key for me here is that I'm 14/16. I'm on the bottom of the stacks left, so I need to accumulate chips. If I was higher up on the chip count list, with it being a marginal shove, I could find a fold here, but not when I'm at the bottom of the list. I need to accumulate chips before I end up with 0 fold equity. Especially from UTG here, playing 17/15 from EP, it should look to the opps that I'm on a tighter shove range than I really am.. so I'm shoving! The one thing that could sway me toward folding though is that it's not listed what I have done the last couple of orbits. If I have been playing very loose and shoving multiple times, then I would also tend to fold more often, as I should be looked up more often... and I'd rather have the opps fold and pick up the dead chips in the middle. Being 14/16, the one thing that should mean absolutely nothing in making my decision... the payouts for the final table. I do not want to be results oriented here, I need to accumulate chips to get to 9th stack, then 3rd stack, then to win. I don't have enough chips to get to the next step (9th), so I need to accumulate more. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Thankfully I did shove and rest is history , I also felt I needed to take a chance from UTG in order make FT and can't wait anymore "desperate times call for desperate measures" evil: Everybody was playing decent poker and not shoving with stupid cards as it's close to FT so everybody transformed from fish to shark . I was also sitting tight and waiting for cards from last 10 or so. So I should get respect for this shove but not if they have the goods PS: Even my shove chart agrees on A8o+, if you didn't read between the lines..lol *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to adikumar2010 [ ] adikumar2010 raises to 159,676, and is all in jwjhooper folds Killerguzzi raises to 306,776, and is all in rastafari8986 folds vrub0n calls 241,184, and is all in luito25 folds HYPOPLASMA folds michel8848 folds Killerguzzi shows [ ] vrub0n shows [ ] adikumar2010 shows [ ] Uncalled bet of 65,592 returned to Killerguzzi *** FLOP *** [ ] (Total Pot: 702,044, 3 Players, 2 All-In) *** TURN *** [ ] [] (Total Pot: 702,044, 3 Players, 2 All-In) *** RIVER *** [ ] [] (Total Pot: 702,044, 3 Players, 2 All-In) Killerguzzi shows a pair of Tens vrub0n shows two pair, Aces and Tens vrub0n wins the side pot (163,016) with two pair, Aces and Tens adikumar2010 shows two pair, Aces and Tens vrub0n wins the main pot (539,028) with two pair, Aces and Tens *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 702,044 Main pot 539,028.
