  • Tough spot against LAGGY

It's same Saturday Micro $3.30 and against same opponent again.

How should I proceed from turn against him, as flush completed?

Hi adikumar2010! With 44 or any other hand that I'm going to open with, I need to make a standard raise. Especially if I had to show the AA hand for example, when a player now bets smaller than they did before, it's a bet tell for a marginal hand (small pair or connectors or suited cards), so the opp will know within a much smaller range, the cards that I'm playing. I need to keep all of my bets standard. I flop bottom set on a VERY wet board. With 2 opps on a dry board, a standard bet is 2/3 pot, but with a wet board, I need to bet 3/4 pot (210). Once again, I cannot bet less than this. If I bet less than this, the opp can be getting the correct odds to try to outdraw me and if I do so and lose the hand, it's my own fault that I lose. The turn completes multiple draws. Here is why I do not want to bet too small preflop and also on the flop... if the opp has any of these draws (AJ, J9 or flush), I gave them the correct odds and deserve to lose the hand. With bottom set, even if the opp did hit their draw, I still have 10 outs to improve to beat them on the river. Due to this, I'm making a standard value bet. With one opp left, a standard bet is 1/2 pot, so I will bet 290. My plan for the rest of the hand is this. If the opp raises the turn, I will only continue if I have the odds to do so. If they shove, I'm priced out and need to fold. On the river, if I improve, then I'll value bet. If I don't, then I'll try to get to a cheap showdown. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Here is what I did, stacked off to a LAG player. I threw in a stupid blocker bet on river only to get shoved on and then call him down.

MORDO TYMOJA: raises 1000 to 1560
          adikumar2010: calls 960 and is all-in
Uncalled bet (40) returned to MORDO TYMOJA
          *** SHOW DOWN ***
MORDO TYMOJA: shows [Jc 3c] (a flush, King high)

MORDO TYMOJA collected 4200 from pot
