  • 4.40 progressive super knockout shoving to open raiser

the guy has pretty loose stats, despite his raise to 3x (which normally means a lot of strenght, i taught this was a good spot to shove , because we were near the bubble and he could be very light) but i think a 3x is always a premium in this stakes, so i think its a bad spot . his stats were 26vpip /21 pfr AG:20 sTEAL 50 through 58 hands

If you aren't worried about ICM then a reshoving the range below vs a 10% UTG open range will +chip EV.

      Hi scarface,

I think this spot is close tbh. I don't like shoving here vs. a tight range, and it's not clear to me how tight his range is.

A couple points... you reference his 3x sizing but don't say if this is his standard open or if he's opening larger than normal for him. But the way you impart the info implies it's larger than normal, which I read as a big hand. Also, you gave us steal stats, so I'm concerned you might be factoring that into your decision incorrectly. Steal % relates to his opens from the CO, Button, and SB... here he's UTG.

Vs a larger than normal sizing from UTG, I don't think shoving is good as we are just shoving our stack into TT+/AK way too much. If we have reasons to believe he is bit wider then shoving is fine. Bear in mind that there are still 5 players behind us who can wake up with a hand as well, so that tightens me up a bit too.

i was sleepy when posted this sorry, Dave , i didnt see the guy opening in last hands so i cant say if 3x is his standard, usuallly 3x in that position is very strong. i put the steal stat but its irrelevant in this spot.
birdayy , thanks for your response, i deduct that graph is from holdem resources calculator right? but always depend on the range we put the villian, honestely i put him on 99+ aq+.
