Hi Aquaticpoker! Please always include what type of tourney a hand is from and also any reads on the opps, as this information is critical in looking at hands... especially the tourney type, as different tourneys have different strategies (you'll see from this one that it will be TOTALLY different if it's a league game vs a cash game). If this is a league game: With AQ in the BB, when I get a shorty shove and 2 calls, I'm going to check and see if I hit the flop. The flop is a total miss, so when an opp makes a bet, since I only have ace high, I need to muck. I do not want to be putting chips into the pot when I know I'm behind. Each chip that I save can allow me to outlast more opps and earn me more league points. If this was a standard tourney: With AQ in the BB, I get a shorty shove and 2 calls. Since I have less than 10BB in my stack, I need to shove any hand that I'm going to play, so I'm shoving preflop as any raise pot-commits me. The key with this hand is NOT the turn, the flop or preflop decisions were what caused the bust. One thing that I don't want to do as a poker player is to be results oriented. I want to make the best decision for a given point in time based on the information that I have. After I make my decision, what happens, happens and is out of my control. If I'm making good decisions, then the results will take care of themselves. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
