  • 25c SNG 45m, KK, tried to trap but...

i was also thinking about shoving preflop but decided to call and trap more people in to pot knowing that my hand would still be the best. i had no stats on any other players. was this a correct play or could it played better ?

Hi Luniaril! With KK, I get a limper in front of me. I absolutely need to raise here and the key is the sizing of it. A standard raise is to 3BB+1BB for each limper at this level, so I will raise to 80. Since this bet does not pot-commit me, I don't want to shove. I also do not want to slowplay and give the op a chance to see a flop that could beat me. If anyone raises me preflop, I'm getting the rest in. If I'm called, then I'm getting it in on any flop that does not contain an A. The key here is that I cannot limp premium pairs, as this gives the opps the correct odds to be in the hand. If I give them the right odds and lose, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
