  • HU SNG Slow play

I don't normally slow play much. But would like some thoughts on slow play HU when you flop the nuts. I find I may be missing some value if I raise too early HU.? I slow played this hand, but I have slow played in the past and It has come back to bite me. So over all is it better to slow play HU or just take it down on the flop ? Thanks Chuckkky

Hi, Hand Analysis We would need really specific reads to consider slow playing a strong made hand. For instance, if the villain has shown the tendency to barrel relenentlessly, then by all means value check them (slow play) check call Matt Damon style lol. If they have been playing passively it's better to bet and get what value we can as future streets may hurt the villains course of action and likely ours depending on board texture and perceived hand ranges, most fish will check their strong draws or mediocre pairs...but they'll also call bets with them to. Every chance you get to bust your opponent do it. This middling board texture is going to hit a loose SB opening range really hard, (16 combos of each hand) A9 K9 Q9 J9 T9 98 97 96 95 are all hands that we can get value, shall we also talk about inside straight draw combos? We should only slow play when we feel that there is a board texture that could plausibly hit the villains value range for second nut holdings or if they have shown barrel monkey tendencies and it's not often we have cooler a situation HU. I'd like to think this villain bet >folded 9x or a stray four flush that bricked. Hope this helps. Kind regards, CannonLee

        Thanks Cannon
I only had 3 hands on this guy,
I was a bit worried when the board paired and the 3rd heart hit.
But I thought there wasn't too many chances that hit him too hard.

Thanks For your analysis it did help.

        Cheers chuckkky
