  • $1 $2.5k final table steal attempt

villain 9 stats 16/15 10%3bet 81 hands villain 2 stats 27/24 9.5%3bet fts81% 385 hands Last in chips and table was really loose. Might not get another chance to steal with fold equity. Both villains have high 3bet, raise folding seems bad. Leveraging fold equity seems the best route. Villain 2 is a solid player and can possibly range me on some weaker hands and call lighter. Are my reads good to shove or is raise/fold or even fold an option?

    Hi DJ,

I think both are valid options. Shoving should be +EV with the fold equity you are leveraging on a 17bb stack for sure. I don't mind raise folding to V2 tbh since he folds to steals so much, but 17bb is a bit shorter than I like raise/folding (unless both blinds are really tight), and V9 we don't know much about his defense frequency.

Given all that I lean towards shoving here. The other piece is our image in the short term. If we've been quiet the past couple orbits then I like it more. If we've been very active, we're going to get called lighter and maybe folding is preferable.
