  • What did I do wrong??

Obviously I had the nut starting hand - but misplayed it.

I thought if they were suited it was like cheating - so I only ever play them offsuits.

Gotta give the other peeps a chance right?

Defo playing 2-7 has helped my game.

Won this tourney anyways. All good.

Thx to coach effsea for his brilliant wisdom.

                  Hiccup!

Hey Ed! Here's the way I'd go about it (not that I'd ever play 27) Preflop from the SB, I either want to fold or raise. For a raise, I'd want to make a standard raise (to between 3X the previous bet and a pot-sized raise). I would not limp preflop since I'm OOP. Once again, on the flop, if I lead, I need to make it look like a made hand. A standard bet with 3 opps is 3/4 pot, so this is what I need to bet. I cannot bet less and give them the odds to call me. The same thing on the turn. Against one opp, a standard bet sizing is 1/2 pot, so that is what I'd bet.. no more, no less. If they call both the flop and turn, I'm check/folding the river. The key with any hand that I'd want to bluff with... I have to make the exact same bets as the hand that I want to represent. Here, preflop says weakness, flop says weakness, turn says strong and then a river shove is a polarizing bet. The bets don't tell a consistent story. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Preflop (in the original hand in 1st post) I called in the SB. Yes this does not show strength - I would say it mostly smacks of a marginal hand like suited cards, connected cards, small pairs or Ace X The flop is all diamonds and I made a decent sized open 360 into 520. I was repping a made flopped diamond flush or flush draw - I think reasonable holdings (any two Ds or AdX) that I might call the SB and hit here - - and bet strong again on the fourth diamond turn. Thoughht it would be hard for a non D hand to call. I think post flop my 'story' is pretty consistent with the few real holdings I am repping. Ed
