Hi ReggaePirate! With AA or any other hand I'm going to raise with, I'm going to make a standard raise, which for this blind level is to 2.5BB+1BB for each limper. With 2 limps, I will raise to 4.5BB or 900. I do not want to raise to less than this, as I can be giving the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me. If I give them the right odds and lose, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. I get a flop of three undercards with a number of straight draws. When it checks to me, I'm going to make a standard value bet. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 2 opps in the hand, I need to bet 2/3 pot, 867. Once again, I cannot bet less than this or the opps can be getting the correct odds to draw.. and if they outdraw me and get the right odds.. it's my own fault that I lose the hand. I'll need to do the same thing on the turn. Bet enough to price out all of the possible draws. 1/2 pot if against 1 opp, 2/3 pot if I'm up against two opps. However, by the turn, this bet will most likely pot commit me (have the bet being over 1/3 of my remaining chips).. so I'll most likely need to shove the turn. With AA on a board with draws.. I will NOT check! Slowplaying big hands is just asking to get beat. The only time I can slowplay is if there is not a single card in the deck that can beat me... not any other time. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

I agree with the above, but i would even make it more obvious i have a monster, betting 1000-1200 pre. Maybe they both fold (i'm ok with that) or one may think i'm stealing and come over the top (elen_kim has enough to push you off a steal). if i got a caller i would be in for 2/3 pot for sure, and committed to the hand

Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent. Bet tells are something to always look for and to use to your advantage. Players that do this are VERY EASILY exploitable and beatable.
