Well played, I don't see anything wrong here.

Hi skrish76! With 73o from the BB, I'm more than happy to check and see a free flop with a bad hand. I flop bottom 2 pair and when it's checked to me, I'm going to make a standard value bet. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 4 opps, a standard bet is a pot sized bet of 23,500.. BUT... this is over 1/3 of my stack, which pot-commits me. If I'm going to make a bet that pot-commits me, I can't ever fold and with this being the case, I need to SHOVE the flop. By waiting until the turn, the opp gets to call less of a bet into the pot, which gives them better pot-odds. In this particular case, the opp is priced out either way, but more often than not, in circumstances like this, the opp may be priced out if I shove the flop, but could be priced IN if I wait to shove until the turn. If it's going to be close, get the chips in before the opp can see a card that makes their hand or get a +EV call. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Shoving 70k into a 25k pot would look very strong though.
We want to get called by any pair, draw, so I prefer a value bet on the flop (60-70% of the pot) and shove the turn.

I would bet about 19K here since it's a 5 way pot, and shove 51800 on the turn personally. Overbet shoving for 3x the size of the pot value cuts us too much, folding out all the low equity hands that might peel, so we tend to only get stack action from hands that crush us (T7s, sets) and that have high equity (big draws). If these big stack limpers are loose spew crazy guys, there's some merit to a huge overbet shove as they may still call with worse, but even still we lose peels from hands like KQ and ace high that are drawing dead to runner runner and maximize our chance of accumulating the minimum amount of chips in a spot where a double up+ sets us up nicely for a run at a top 3 finish.

Another reasonable option is to check-raise jam. Although it was a limped pot so no c-bet is possible, there are still 3 opponents behind and I'd expect anyone to bet a ten, maybe a 7, or a draw. And the button may make a stab with air if checked to. Our stack size is nice to c/r jam here. And if it checks around, no one probably has much, so a free card when holding 2 pair isn't a disaster. If at least 2 of the 3 villains behind us are aggressive, I'd often take a shot at c/r jamming this type of spot on our stack size. If the villains behind are passive, I think leading is better.

I agree with you on the c/r, Dave. That absolutely would make sense as a viable option here too... and might get us more value.
