Hi Shichi-77! With QQ from the hijack, when it's folded to me, I'm going to make a standard raise (3BB+1BB for each limper). Therefore, I will raise to 240. I do not want to bet less than this, as with multiple opps behind me, I can be giving the opps the correct odds to be in the hand to try and outdraw me and the last thing I want to do here is to give an A/rag opp the right odds to see an A on the flop. The flop is all unders, but has a straight and flush draw. When the opp checks to me, I need to make a value bet that prices out these draws. With one opp, I will bet 1/2 pot or 220. Once again, I don't want to bet less, as this can be giving an opp the correct odds to draw to beat me. The opp now clicks back and min-raises me. I need to 3-bet here, as due to the smaller initial bet on the flop and their min-raise, I can definitely be giving them the right odds to draw. My standard 3-bet sizing is to between 3X the previous bet (1200) and a pot-sized raise (1440). With this being a league game, I'm opting for the smaller of the two and will raise to 1200. The turn puts more straights and another flush draw out there and now the opp makes a very small bet into me. I need to raise here to by 1/2 pot in order to price them out, so I will raise to 1340. Once again, I cannot bet less or I can be giving them the correct odds to try to outdraw me and if I do so and lose... it's my own fault that I lose the hand. In any tourney, but especially in a league game, I do not want to bet too small and price opps in by playing passively. I'm going to be playing tighter in these and when I do play hands, I need to be aggressive and do everything that I can to accumulate chips. By betting too small, I can give the opp a +EV play and if I do so, I LOSE chips on average, instead of gaining chips on average. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
