Hi Gang, Just running out the door so I couldnt figure the hand analyser out atm! I'll look 2moro using the thread when i'll have more time. Any thoughts on this hand please? It was early, everyone was tight, only limpers for the 1st 12 hands. I had tagged the villain as TAG (doh). The villain played it great imo! I was very keen to start betting either to steal the pots or encourage the table too loosen up. Hi Zix9,

Preflop you should probably just fold this hand. If you want to play it you should do so for a raise. You might take down the pot right away or you'll gain initiative in the hand and be able to realistically bet on later streets as a semi-bluff as you did and get more respect.

The bet on the flop is ok, as you can increase the pot for when you hit a flush or straight and get enough un-improved hands to fold. We also have odds to call the min reraise also.

At this point I would slow down as you have. The pot on the turn is 480 and the bet is only 150. Again I think we are getting an ok price if we consider pot odds. We've also paired which means another 7 or a 5 may also give us the best hand.

I think I would bet the river since the oppositions bets on flop and turn have been small, their hand looks weak, so unlikely to bet themselves with a worse hand. If they do bet it's likely to be small again.
The pot on the river is 780 so I would bet pretty small to allow their weak K to call but more than we expect them to bet themselves. So maybe 390-420.

We'd have a difficult decision at this point when they shove. Obviously we're thinking bigger flushes and sets are now in the villains range. 1060 to call into a pot of 2900. I think they'd be more flushes than sets given the continued small bet on the turn, we might get away here.

I think just as likely as a shove here if we lead the river the villain will click it back like they did on the flop and we can just flat call and save ourselves some chips.

When you check raise the river like this, there really aren't that many worse hands that can pay you and when they give you action you could well be beat.

Thanks for that Andy, I didn't consider the flush at all, hence the shove. So many mistakes in the cold light of the hand analyser. Thanks again, Z
