With just a button raise in front of us this is a dream spot with 8 8 to get our last 5 big blinds in in my opinion. Opponent has such a wide range and isn't even always a coin flip. He can have smaller pairs, one over one under etc. I think it is going to be very hard to find a better spot with such a small chip stack.

I tend to play the PL Qualifiers like normal tournaments. The only time I'd nit up and blind out is if it was late in the month and I desperately needed to get a positive points score to remain in with a chance of qualification.
When you're 53/57, you're some way from the money in the PLQs, as it's usually 36 or fewer that get paid. I'd definitely be getting my chips in here. Timebanking and folding might improve your finishing position by a couple of positions, but with the relatively small field, the leaderboard points differential is tiny between the lower places. (i.e. finishing 53rd or 50th won't have a huge effect on your monthly points score.)
If you double up here, you're in much better shape, both to get some more points, and also you might get ITM. At $1.10 per tourney, it's pretty wasteful to effectively sit out. :/

EDIT: I just checked your leaderboard position. By exiting 59th in this one, you only lost 2.85 points. That's nothing, when you'll pick up 15 points or so for finishing in the top 25, and 90+ if you make a final table.
