  • $1.30 NLH SNG - Late play and the bubble

Hi I have now adjusted my previous errors with the flop size bet and it has helped a lot, but I have come to my next obstacle. The bubble and late play. I cannot seem to get past the bubble or late play behaviour. watching the tutorials it suggests that shoving is the way on a fairly wide range at the late stages of play. I am struggling with this concept as it seems every time I shove it blows out and I am out of the game. Which makes me think it makes more sense to wait for the better hands, hope you get one and then go, otherwise avoid it. but everyone starts shoving like crazy so I end up blowing it anyway. here is an example from tonights play maybe you can give me some pointers. It felt strong enough to go with, but weak enough to be scared by a shove. Kofi22 seemed to be getting great cards and was shoving a lot by this point in the game and he'd ramped it up more at the bubble. Scouser hardly played at all most of the game, but when he did he seemed to do well enough he had lasted to now. We'd all fluctated through a few stack sizes and evened out here. I just really dont like shoving low stuff when I have been working on training myself not to do it early on in the game. to throw it all in on these cards at the bubble seems like a stupid thing to do to me. whats your thoughts and reasoning for how you play it at this stage of the game? Hi mdkb123,

Late in the game you do want to open our your range a little.

Shoves are a good way of increasing your fold equity, by pressuring your opponent to fold more often.

If 15BBs I think there is room to raise and fold. Or raise and CBet.

But once your opponent shoves on your here you need to give them credit for a hand I think and fold in this spot.

Even if you catch a light bluff 3bet Q8o is not very far ahead if at all.

    Good Luck
    Andy
