  • Hand versus Andy 'ahar010' freezeout ME

Hand I lost earlier to Andy - he talked about it in Live Training - might be worth a summary at least - I'll post to conclusion - add my own thoughts later. Ed

Hi Ed! With 88, I'm going to make a standard opening raise, which for me here is to 3BB+1BB for each limper (180), but if 150 is what you use for a standard and are consistant with it, that's the important part. The flop misses me with an overpair and a flush draw. Since I raised preflop, I want to make a c-bet here and I'll size it at my standard c-bet amount, which for me against 1 opp on a board without a possible combo draw, is 1/2 pot. Once again, I want to use my standard bet size, so that the opp doesn't know whether I have a pair, AK or anything else. The turn completes the flush, which is a problem. The flat on the flop I'd expect from a K or a draw and maybe a pair. However, a pair could easily raise the flop to try to see where they're at in the hand, especially if they expected a c-bet. With basically all of the opp's range now beating me, I'm going to check and fold to a bet on the turn by the opp. Yes, there's a small chance it could be a bluff, but the majority of the time, I'm going to be crushed here. I think you played this one very well. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
