  • AQ fold here

i geuss ita a fold her its a pretty tight player havent seen him playing a hand accpet one open shove 35bb with kk where he dubled. that was also the reason why i 3bet him because he looked to be shoving his premeums and raise his litle bit weaker hands

Hi adohole! With AQ on the button and a small raise in front of me, I like the idea of 3-betting here to isolate the initial raiser by not enticing the blinds to come along. I would, however, size the 3-bet a bit higher. A standard 3-bet size is to between 3X the previous bet (666) and a pot-sized raise (594), so I'd size it at 625. I don't want to make it lower, due to the fact that if the blinds think the initial raiser will call, they could be getting the correct price to try to outdraw me. I want to always try to make the opps have a -EV play and not a +EV one (where they expect to gain chips from me). The initial raiser now 4-bet shoves on me. While AQ can easily be a hand to shove with, I don't like calling shoves with AQ unless the opp is known to be extremely loose. With the read that the opp is tight and shoves premium hands, this most likely is a very high pair and AQ does not play well against this range. Due to this, I'm going to muck. Another thing to think about with the 3-bet. If the sizing for it is much smaller than normal, the opps could look at this as a sign of weakness and 4-bet shove more often. Making standard bet sizes will rule this out from happening. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

        Hi adohole!

The smaller bet sizes will allow more marginal hands to call, due to being priced in, so this will get you drawn out on more and more. By keeping more opps in, expect to lose a much higher % of hands due to it.
