Hi stedds! With AK from the hijack and a limper in front of me, I'm going to make a standard raise, which for me at this blind level is going to be 2.5BB+1BB for each limper, so I will raise to 700. I flop top pair/top kicker in a 3-way pot on a board with multiple straight draws. The first opp checks and the second opp (shortest stack left in the pot) shoves. With so many draws available and many hands that hit the board that are behind me, I'm going to overshove here. I want to isolate the shorter stack and would highly prefer to be in a HU pot than a 3-way pot (less cards that can draw to beat me). I could just raise to 4700 (the effective stack that I'd be playing for if the other opp calls), but I'm pushing them all in, as it may look more intimidating to a lesser opp (no read on opp given). Even if the larger of the two stacks has JT or two pair and I eventually lose the hand, I still have a very playable stack and am not putting my tourney life on the line for negative league points. Well played.umbup: John (JWK24)
