Given UTG position and my stack size my 2 options were shove or fold. Being 8 handed might make shoving the best option. I'm still undecided about it.

Hi BadBeatSab! Welcome to the forum. Interesting spot. With it being deep in a tourney, I want to be accumulating chips for a final table run, but not taking an unnecessary chance. With AQ in this situation, I would be shoving or folding and the final determining factor for me would be the reads on UTG and the blinds. Especially if the player UTG was playing looser, I wouldn't mind being in a heads-up pot with them... but AQ, since it's not a made hand, does not play as good in a multi-way pot, which I could easily be in if the SB or BB would frequently try to defend thier blinds. If my reads would most likely get me to HU, then I'd rather shove here, but if I think that either blind would be in the hand, then I'd fold here. The key for me here would be the reads. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

sorry, my mistake, 7 handed and UTG+1 as opposed to what I wrote in the post. I hadnt veiwed the hand since last night.

Anyways the advice certainly helps in the respect that I wasnt entirely wrong to fold, as I thought. I cant remember what the vilans were like now but I rekon it was correct move. UTG raise is usually dangerous enough, making AQ foldable there
