Hi 0Magic14! In a freeroll, especially early, I want to be playing extremely tight. If the table has any aggressive maniacs at it, I'm actually mucking JJ from UTG. If there aren't any maniacs, then I'll make my std open, which is to 3BB or in this case, a raise to 90. When the opp makes a min 3-bet to 150, I would just flat this bet. I don't want to be making a 4-bet that would bloat the pot when I'm out of position. Most likely there will be an overcard on the flop to my jacks and when it happens, I would have no clue if I had the best hand or not. The flop does bring the overcard K. If I had not made the 4-bet preflop, I could easily make a c-bet here of 3/4 pot, both for value and to see where I'm at in the hand. My normal c-bet is 1/2 pot, but since there are two broadway hearts on the board, the opp could possibly have a combination draw for both the flush and straight and I would need to price them out (make it a -EV play to draw). Due to making a 4-bet preflop that was called, I would check the flop and I would fold to the shove by the opp. Most of the time the opp will have Kx here and I would only have two outs to win the hand. The line that I would take here is to flat the opp's 3-bet preflop, then fold to the opp's shove when the overcard hits on the flop. An opp that would play a small pair like this is being very, very LAG and if they continue to play this way, will not be in the tourney very long the majority of the time. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
