  • mtt help against getting bullied fighting for blinds

a lot of the time when i run quite deep, past min cash anyways. i find myself getting bullied. say theres an agg player in the blinds and i have a medium strength hand, say 77. i raise trying for them blinds and the agg blind shoves, i find myself staring at my timer so frustrated that i cant hit the call button for the majority of my stack with a hand like 77. i was thinking maybe to start polarizing my stealing range away from hands like mid pocket pairs to either solid premium hands im willing to go with or complete trash which would give me an easy fold if 3 bet shoved, is this a correct way round this? also within minutes a player who was always raising the cutoff/button for the steal is sat to my right, he rasies the cutoff as always and i 3 bet the button with KJ suited trying to resteal but he then shoves on me and again to the muck they go, i felt that he had seen my weakness in the prior hands and capitalized on it. or is a 3bet onn the button against an agg cutoff with KJ a stupid play? i think i really need help with these blind fighting stages of an mtt. iv watched the langolier hand of day stuff which helped a bit, but i need more help on this plz?

Hi brownd86! In the 77 hand, was the opp shoving frequently? If so, then their shove range will be very wide and 77 may play well against their range. It'll depend on how often they're shoving. If the opp would shove the top 25%, then 77 is a favorite in the hand and I'd call. KJs on the other hand is an underdog even against a top 25% shove, so that one I'm mucking as soon as the cutoff is in the hand. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
