  • I Have a Feeling ...

So, it's early in a $4.40 MicroMillions Tourney. I've been crushing the table and have been hit with the deck. The table is fairly aggressive. I don't have much of a read on the person directly to my left yet but my thoughts so far is that he's a weak player. The hand speaks for itself: I had a bad feeling going into the hand. I've suffered so many beats after All-In pre-flops (it starts to affect your play). I knew he must have kings or aces. Do I play this differently? How can you win a tournament with stuff like this ALWAYS happening? Normally it's 70/30 loss after loss (me as the 70). Also, look at it from his perspective. Can you fold there? I've laid down kings pre-flop before to the right opponent. This isn't meant as a whine post about the beat. It's definitely not the worst beat I've suffered. I'm just looking for a little advice. Thanks in advance

Hi Jcrondps! With AA, I want to get as many chips into the pot as soon as possible (don't want to let someone see a card that they could beat me with, without paying the max for it). In almost every situation, neither AA nor KK is going to be laying their hand down preflop. Hands like this is why bankroll management is so important. I want my chips in with AA and yes, I'm going to lose some of them, but the ones that I win, I'll have a huge stack and be set up for a deep run in the tourney. The only thing that I'd have done different here is to make my 4-bet slightly larger (to about 1300 instead of 1150). When the opp 5-bets, I'm absolutely 6-bet shoving every single time with AA. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
